About

A trusted local guide behind Raja Ampat Adventures

Deni Malingkas is the founder of Raja Ampat Adventures and the face many returning guests ask for by name. Originally from Desa Buku, Belang (North Sulawesi), he built the operation in Sorong, West Papua from a single wooden boat into a trusted liveaboard crew that has welcomed travelers since 2008.

What sets Deni apart is hands-on guiding: he knows when Wayag is reachable, when Fam and Piaynemo are the smarter call, and how to keep a simple boat trip safe, warm, and full of water time. Guests describe the experience as economical without cutting the soul of the archipelago — snorkeling, short treks, village stops, and nights under the open sky.

He develops the business together with his brother Roli, who more often runs the day-to-day on board. Together they keep packages high-value, routes flexible to weather, and guest care personal. If you are planning your first Raja Ampat liveaboard — or your fifth — Deni’s notes on season, PIN fees, and itineraries come from real seasons on the water, not a brochure rewrite.
